Never Let Me Go
Kazuo Ishiguro's "Never Let Me Go" is a great book. A great story, since there are no great books, but great stories. Better, even, a masterpiece of imagination and reflection on an important subject not that far from possibility given the world we live in. I won't tell what that subject is. The book is, seemingly, purposely written in a way readers can only step by step discouver it. And that is part of the "fun", if one can say that, story read. Though the whole story reflects on that subject, the author only after two hundred and some pages makes a direct reference only once giving it the name it has. For some time, after you begin the reading, you're always wondering what is all that about, trying to guess the author's intention and not quite getting it. As I said, you get to understand very slowly, step by step, what is all that about. Very possible. Very touching. Mirrors our worst possibilities as humans. Read it!
